VIP Road runs from Ultadanga to Dum Dum and leads straight to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport which is the only Airport serving the city of Kolkata. The road is located on the north eastern outskirts of Kolkata and is administered by South Dumdum Municipality and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. With time, several flyovers have been built on VIP Road to curb traffic congestions especially on Ultadanga Crossing and Baguihati Crossing, thus reducing the travel time between the city and the airport. Howrah Station is approximately 7 kilometres from Ultadanga End of VIP Road and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is 17 kilometres from Ultadanga Crossing. There are several cabs along the route for convenient travel to all parts of the city. Popular locations on this route are Lake Town, Shreebhumi, Bangur, Baguihati and Keshtopur which are well connected by metro stations on their other end improving the connectivity of VIP Road. There are several hotels in VIP Road Kolkata in all price range. Very recently several banquets and party halls have increased the popularity of this road. Landmarks and places to visit on and around VIP Road are Lake Town Trijunction, Kaikhali Trijuncitions, Statue of Netaji on a Horse, Kolkata Gateway and Biswa Bangla Kolkata.
